Music with XWE (Extendable Wad Editor)

=======================================================================
How can I insert my own music into my doom2 pwad?

If you use a source port, you may insert .mus, .mid, .mp3, .ogg files.
If you want to have a compatibility with original doom, use only .mus file format.
Here is a short tutorial of using midi2mus program.

Open your pwad with XWE. Select the "blockmap" entry.

(It is the last map data lump and the music lump will be inserted after it):

Then choose from "Entry" menu "Load". Click on the .mus file you want to use.

Then select this entry and choose from "Entry" menu the "Rename" function.

You have done it.

The names you have to use (it is the most important):

Another typ: rename files with Windows before you open XWE, so you can omit renaming.
You can see in my example, that the mus file has a correct name, so renaming is not needed.

I remixed Doom2 music. I Did not modified any notes, only the pans and the music instruments were set. In my file d_shawn, d_shawn2, etc. now sounds different, not like in doom2. I use it not only for doom2, but to kill the ugly music songs of some pwads.
